topo maps for garmin?
wondering if anyone knows a site to get free topo maps to put on my garmin vista HcX?
i found free topos for montana, utah and some other states but im looking for idaho?
Free maps are not common for the US because it takes a LOT of work to make them. Garmin sells them ready made at a low cost when you consider the number of hours it would take to make them.
Using a search engine is a good start.

The first two are primaily for etrex users but are willing to help with the other hand helds.
